The container...

We still don't have a name for "her", but she looks much better now than when we first bought her. She has a fresh coat of interior paint, electrical outlets throughout, and a drop-down hydraulic door. She still has a big dent on her backside, but we think that adds to her character. Her previous owner was Hanjin, a south Korean company that, until their collapse in 2016, was the seventh largest shipping company in the world. She has likely traveled the world many times over.

We're glad she ended up with us.

p.s. If you're in or near Birmingham, Al and need the services of two excellent iron workers we strongly recommend the "iron boys", Forrest and Garrett Millsap of Millsap Studios.

Looking back on our first trip...

Once we made the decision to start our little venture the only thing left to do was book a trip to France. So in November of 2015 we flew into Nice, immediately knocked back multiple cups of strong coffee, picked up a car, and headed out into the crisp, sunny fall morning.

We had absolutely no idea what we were doing.

Not a clue.

As it turns out, though, we did pretty well for a couple of novice buyers. Our first purchase was from a lovely woman, Francine, who runs a small pottery studio in a little village about thirty minutes north of Nice.

If you missed seeing her wares at one of our pop-ups there's a good reason...Francine's pottery sold out in a day and a half.

Hey there.

We have a blog now and we're pretty excited about it.

We're also pretty excited about 2017 and where we will pop-up. You'll definitely see us again in Birmingham and Montgomery, probably Auburn and Opelika too. We plan to branch out this upcoming year with stops in Atlanta and Nashville and we're working on securing a couple of locations on the Alabama coast.

Yes we're pretty excited and we hope you'll visit us if we pop-up near you.

Thanks for stopping by!
