It's rare that we pop up without our container, but this past weekend saw us happily plopped down inside the Music City Center in Nashville for the Nashville Antiques and Garden Show.
One of the many fun things about participating in an event like this is meeting other vendors. A figurative "vendorhood" developed quickly around our booth on Thursday as we prepared to open. Business cards were exchanged, stories swapped, encouragement given, and wine shared. Comments like "Compared to last year we're up about 15%" or "This reminds me of five years ago when we finished strong on Saturday afternoon" were heard often during the weekend. Continuous updates were the norm and lulls in customer traffic were easily filled by stepping across the aisle and chatting with our newfound neighbors.
Country music star Faith Hill stopped by and Rick Springfield bought an antique piece from our friends across the aisle. Just a normal weekend in Nashville it seems.
Nashville is cool. If you haven't been, go.
We'll be back as soon as possible...
